Conjura de la Materia 24" x 30". |
By: Antonio Prats Ventós
Ever
since the beginning, when she studied in the Plastic Arts School of the
Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University, her teachers realized that
she was something special: She had an inquisitive attitude that went
beyond our answers. She didn't limit herself to what we taught her based
on a program. Instead, she would work more than what we would ask her
to and she would question more than we could answer.
Years of experience with students gave us the intuition that Natalia Conde was going to be an artist.
I
have to clarify that an Art Schools teaches craftmanship to facilitate
expression in any artistic manifestation, but they are not factories of
artists. This depends on the sensibility of each person, on his creative
imagination, on his work capacity, and on his sense of aesthetics ,
without caring about the incidences of daily life. He has to do his
artwork passionately all the time.
This is the case of Natalia.
Her
personality, her ease, the formats, and her constant dedication allows
us to assure that the promise that she made her teachers believe, that
they had AN ARTIST -in capital letters- in formation, has been amply
fulfilled. Continue like that Natalia.
